As a professional musician, sound engineer and artistic mediator, Alexandre Pampalon played a key role as manager and artistic director of Café Timénés from 1982 to 1989. His involvement in the Mile-End has been outstanding, where he organized a wide range of activities including numerous musical events, film screenings, visual arts exhibitions, and founded the first Jazz-Off festival,

while publishing 28 issues of L’Effetversant (1984 to 1987).

L’Effetversant was a cultural local newspaper rich in information and reviews.
After Café Timénés closed, Alexandre Pampalon continued his mission to promote the arts through his recording studio, Surf-Studios, opened in 1988 next to the Mile-End.
